About Rex C Anderson
AI Consultant | Fractional Chief AI Officer | Automation Architect
In 2020, I retired after 30 years spent litigating cases in Federal Court. Now I help small and mid-size businesses cut through the noise and information firehose about artificial intelligence and workflow automation.
Not with hype. Not with buzzwords.
With clear strategy, practical systems, and a human-first approach that turns confusion into confidence.
During more my entire career, I have built elegant & bulletproof automated workflows, first in my law firm, and for the past decade for other clients. My work has always been about one thing: creating clarity where others see chaos.
Now, as AI reshapes every industry, I partner with leaders who want to evaluate and adopt intelligent systems in their businesses.
Together we identify where AI can save time, reduce cost, and unlock growth. And with the experienced wisdom to know where it shouldn’t be forced.
The Role of Certifications in My Work
I don’t believe a certificate makes someone qualified to guide a firm through AI transformation.
Real expertise comes from navigating complexity, not from a 3-day crash course and passing quizzes. Â
Because of my known interest in AI, I'm bombarded with "Become an AI Consultant" advertisements promising me expertise in 3 half-day trainings, or less. Â
That said, I understand that in some organizations, certifications are still a signal of seriousness, a form of shorthand that earns initial trust. So yes, I’ve pursued select credentials where they help open conversations; but I don’t confuse badges for depth.
I’ve been doing systems work since the mainframe era. I’ve built real automation, implemented live infrastructure, and advised teams through technological upheaval.
My work experience building elegant and bulletproof software system speaks louder than any crash course and a passing score on an exam.
I do have a Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and practiced law in Federal & State Courts in Arizona for 30 years.Â
An a Liberal Arts Degree in Psychology from University of Arizona with a minor in Math and Computer Science, where I left college fluent in 7 different computer languages.Â
So there's that.
A life-long passion for software and systems.
This is not a new career for me.Â
I've always been fascinated by computers and software. Â
From the Computer Science courses at the University of Arizona.
To a career in computer systems and running my own independent computer consulting company for 9 years before returning to start Law School.
Understanding and building systems with software has been my life-long passion.
